What happens in the float tank?

  • Reduced Gravity

    The float tank is filled with roughly ten inches of water, which is saturated with over 500kg of Epsom Salt. The extreme levels of salt makes the water buoyant, allowing your body to float effortlessly. The reduced gravity allows all tension to be relieved from the bones, joints and muscles.

  • Neutral Temperature

    The temperature of the water is kept at around 35 degrees celsius - skin temperature. This means that as you float it becomes difficult for your body to distinguish between which body parts are touching the water. It gives the feeling that you are floating in air, making it easier for you to let go and fully relax.

  • Light and Sound Reduced

    The float tanks and the rooms around are insulated, cutting you off from distracting sounds. If you decided to turn off the lights, you are left in darkness. Being cut off from light and sound, reduces stimuli and distraction allowing you to be truly alone with your thoughts and enter a deep state of relaxation.
